New old stock unused vintage Dexter 8” chef knife. This knife has original finish and original etching on the blade, it is clean and pristine, condition does not get any nicer than this.

This knife was drop forged then hand forged and hand ground, it represents the last era of this type of American industrial knife making that incorporated skilled hand work at this level. Once this type of knife making was lost it never returned to large scale production. Reliance on non-hand work grinding on the few remaining lines of forged knives made in the old cutlery making centers of the North East gave way to a flatter heavier blade that wedges and sticks more during cutting.
